#SDA*NCE COMPETITION COMPANY SCHEDULE 2025! Work in progress, TBA, TBD, etc. Check back in the future.
Competition Admittance Emails, June 2022. What we have at SDA is unlike anywhere else, because of the young women surrounding us. Our competition teaching staff is humbled and honored to guide them!
I cannot begin to put into words what it is that dance means to me. Over the years, dance has gotten me through some of my worst times - not only the art itself, but the people that make up SDA. I have grown up with this studio and these girls, and to not be in Competition Company would be a far greater sacrifice than being in it has ever seemed to me. It is more than something I do, it is who I am. That being said, dance has never been all that I am. I am in a high role in student council, and leadership is something I’m passionate about. This position has time commitments and responsibilities but does not, and will not, interfere with my complete dedication to dance and to this team. With my time spent here, I am continuously impressed by the completeness of team mentality. It is always a complete group unit working towards a shared goal - never individual above team. This cohesive has made these girls a second family to me - this studio a second home. Like any family, each one of us plays an integral role. We support each other and can expect to lean on each other when we are the ones who need support. These past couple of years have been difficult for me mentally and emotionally, as they have been for many. Despite that, I do my best to show up to dance each day and brighten the days of those around me. I know I am not the strongest dancer, or the most flexible, or here every day of the week. I also know that I can make people smile and I can make people laugh - something that is important, no matter the circumstances. No matter what, I promise to show up. Show up to the studio, and for every dancer. I want to be on this team so I can be the one that people can lean on and that can be relied on to have team spirit no matter how hot or tired we may be. I want to be on this team so that I can be a welcoming face to the next group of dancers moving up. I want to be on this team to help create the family environment that I cherish so greatly. I want to be on this team because I cannot imagine life without it.
This year I want to be in comp-company because last year I loved it so much getting to learn more dance and it help me improve as a dancer and I just loved the energy of competitions and getting to bond with teammates .I hope to learn more new moves and improve on old ones. I am dedicated to it and will make sacrifices like not going to non required school event and not signing up for any other activities.Dance has been and will always be my number one priority and I will always try my hardest to be there 99.9% of the time. As a part of the group i will be somebody who helps keep everyone’s sprits up and feel good about how they danced I will also help make sure everyone knows what to do.
There are so many reasons I want to be in the competition company. It is a big part of dancing at SDA, and therefore a big part of my life. Another reason I want to do it is to grow as a dancer. I want to get better at memorizing dances, being more precise, and I hope to learn more dance skills. Competition company also gives me an opportunity to grow as a person. That could mean making new friends who share the same love of dancing, and committing more to my fellow dancers and team. I would support all of my teammates, be encouraging at every practice, and always be optimistic. Dancing at SDA is a very high priority in my life. Sacrificing for dance adds up to nothing because it is so important to me. I would not hesitate to give up other things in order to have excellent attendance. For all these reasons, and much more, I want to be part of SDA’s 2022-23 competition company.
I love dance and want to get closer to friends or make new friends. I also want to get better at keeping my arms still and smile better on stage. I am willing to sacrifice other stuff to do dance and have great attendance. I will show up to every practice so I don’t let any of my teammates down. I will bring a lot of energy and courage to practices.
I would like to do competition again because it is so much fun and I love dance. I would like to learn new skills and how to better memorize dances. I will come to all the practices because I love dance. I will make sure I practice a lot to help my teammates and not let them down. I will help my team by being a good friend and making sure we all work together. I am good at smiling and will make sure my teammates are smiling too.
I would like to continue with competition company because of my love for dance. I truly enjoy everyday when I come into the studio and I couldn’t begin to describe all that dance has given me throughout the years. I feel that continuing competition company will give me the opportunity to continue and make the most out of what I love since this will be my final year at SDA. And, for me, dance wouldn’t quite be the same without being in competition. Through comp-company I hope to continue to grow my skills as a dancer because I know that even though I am a senior I still have so much to learn. More specifically, I hope to learn more about stage presence and how we, as a team, can really learn how to captivate the audience’s attention. I have always been committed to SDA and comp-company and do not plan on changing this commitment this year. In my mind dance has always been a gift to me and my life which is why I make the choice to show up everyday and put dance above other things I may have going on. I have always done my best to work and schedule things going on in my life so they don’t interfere with dance. So when I have missed class in the past, it is usually because whatever going on was out of my power to change but I always do my best to find out what I missed so it doesn’t feel like I missed. Making dance a high priority in my life doesn’t feel like I’m sacrificing anything to be there because I want to be there 100% of the time. I have experienced frustration when my teammates consistently don’t show up and I wouldn’t want to cause someone else to be frustrated because I’m not there. I want my teammates to feel like they can rely on me to show up and be ready to put forward my best effort. In the past, the seniors have always tried to create an environment that feels inclusive and try to make everyone feel like they matter. This is something I will strive to do everyday as a senior this year. Comp-company has given me some of my best friends that I know I can always rely on and my hope is that everyone in competition will feel that way too because we truly are a family. One other thing I have always loved about competition at SDA is that we always support one another across all levels. Other studios don’t seem to have the connection to one another that we have because they are so focused on winning everything. While winning is a lot of fun and I believe it is always important we go out and do our best, I also believe it is important that we aren’t solely focused on ourselves but that we support each other, not just within our levels but throughout all levels. This is something that I feel like I can really bring to competition throughout this year just like other seniors before me have. I want to be in comp-company this year because dance wouldn’t be the same without it for me. I never feel forced to be at dance, I go because I love dance and want to be there. I feel like I will be able to bring a positive energy to the group and be able to bring a feeling of support among one another. I am truly grateful for everything competition have given me throughout the years and couldn’t image my senior year without it.
I want to be on the competition team again this year because it helps me grow as a dancer and a person, leaving me with stronger connections and capabilities. Spending time with these girls the past few years, dance and especially competition has become a second family. The connections I make through dance and through this team are so important to me, and being able to get closer to these girls and push myself as a dancer is such a great opportunity. Competition has taught me self discipline, respect, teamwork, and so much more. Dance wouldn’t be the same without it and being on this team has helped me improve so much as a dancer! I’m excited for another year, see you again in July!
I’ve been apart of SDA’s competition team for four years now and I’m wanting to make this year my fifth. Four years in retrospect is a short time, however the amount of growth I’ve experienced in this fraction of time, both as an individual and as a team has been incredible. This competition team means a lot to me. It’s taught me discipline, commitment, resilience, hard work, and so much more. But most importantly it’s created a bond equal to family with the other dancers who I am grateful to share the stage with. Therefore, I’d love to be apart of competition company once more to strengthen these bonds and make more memories to look back on. Although I’ve done my fair share of growing and becoming a more well rounded dancer, I am hoping this next season will push me past what I thought my limits were. I know I still have a lot more to learn. I’m hoping this year will show me how important it is to enjoy the moments you have with the people in your life. A lot of dancers I am extremely close with will be graduating, so getting to share the stage with them one last time competing will teach me this. Dedication to competition company is something that I take very seriously, and I’d like to think that I’ve proved this through my actions over the last few years. Dedication to me is more than just showing up to rehearsal. That’s the bare minimum in my mind. I show my dedication through knowing my choreography, listening and applying corrections, helping out a fellow dancer if needed, sacrificing plans outside of dance, being on time, and showing up ready to put in my best effort. Anyone can show up to a practice, but dedication is all these things combined. I am fully committed to my teammates and will honor that through my dedication as well as implementing a group mentality rather than an individual mentality. I believe with these positive qualities, I’ll be contributing something worthwhile to the team. Ultimately, this team is apart of who I am today. It improved my personal skills such as dedication and resilience. It taught me the value of teamwork and how we owe it to each other to be fully committed. Lastly, it helped form some of the best friends I have and will always have. There’s no team I’d rather be apart of.
I am so excited to get back to dance and I really want to be in competition company. I’ve only done competition for two years prior but I really love how it makes me feel more involved with dance and I feel like it helps all of us dancers become more close. I love how all of our hard work in the studio gets put out onto the stage and judged. I feel as if it helps us advance as dancers and grow trust in one another. I love dance and always make it my very top priority like I have these past years. I love to encourage and uplift others and this can help everyone in the group feel confident and make a positive team. Last year practices were very difficult with people missing so I am very committed to showing up to every class unless there is an emergency. I also feel as if competition company has helped the older dancers become closer to the younger dancers with ultimately makes the studio closer and feel like a family. We get to watch each other and the different age groups don’t always see each other during normal class so it’s nice for the younger girls to get inspired by the older girls. As soon as competition season ended last year I got so excited thinking about this year and I really hope I get to be a part of it because it has a really special place in my heart. Dance has been my life for forever and it’s what makes me happy and I love doing.
Choosing to dance at SDA was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I absolutely love being able to be apart of a studio, a team, and a family that is full of love and acceptance. Being apart of Ace has been the most amazing thing to experience. This will make my 6th year of competition, and I am so excited to see what is in store for me and all of my teammates. Being able to be apart of Competition Company is such an honor and an amazing opportunity for everyone that is really passionate about dance. I feel that I am very passionate about dance as a lot of other girls are. I would love to be able to stay apart of Competition Company because I truly care about my teammates, teachers, and dances. I love every second I spend dancing with the people I love and I will be dedicated to anything that comes my way. I will make it to every practice that I can and I will always try to help others around me. Dance is my second home. I love going to practice and being able to escape reality and just be in the moment. Dancing has always helped me and being apart of Competition Company would bring so many more chances to come to practices, dance with my friends, and be on stage. I can’t wait to grow even more this year not only as a dancer, but also as a person in general.
For the past few years, being on the competition team has given and taught me so many things. Not only have I learned more about dance, but I’ve also learned more about myself as a result of being on the team. Dance is something that I love and I wouldn’t be the same without it. I want to be on the comp-company because it’s a part of me; and not just because I do it almost every day. Dancing, especially being on the competition team, is my form of therapy. Being on stage and competing makes me feel incredibly happy and proud of myself. Seeing my hard work, and everyone else’s hard work is an amazing thing about performing. Two of my main goals of being on the competition team are improving/learning and being there for my team. I’ve made amazing friends at SDA from being on the competition team and they all mean so much to me. During every practice and rehearsal, I want to help make all of my teammates feel good about themselves, their dancing, and knowing that they can trust me; which will always be a priority of mine. Not only do I look up to them, but I hope they can look up to me or trust me in some way. I hope to be able to learn more about technique, the different styles, and how I can improve in those specific styles. Dance has been a priority of mine for a long time, and it will continue to be. I think that I’m very dedicated to dance and I’m willing to sacrifice multiple aspects of my life in order to be present for as many practices as possible. During those practices, I will always push myself, try my hardest, bring a positive attitude, and help others with anything and everything. Competition rehearsals have always been my favorite for many reasons; which is another reason I want to be on the comp-company again this year. I’m so excited to start dancing again with the people that I call my family!
For this last year, I really want to work hard on the new dances and have fun! I’m so thankful to be a part of this dance family and I’m sad to leave in the next years. Competition is always such a fun challenge and I learn to push myself to new levels. I’m putting all of my time into dance this year, I want to make this last one count the most! I’m excited to be back in the studio!!!
I want to be in competition company because it wouldn’t be dance without it. To me it isn’t a sacrifice, it is just me doing something I love. I feel like if I didn’t do competition I wouldn’t grow as much as I want. I want to be a good dancer and be proud of everything I do. I want my fellow dancers to be proud of me and themselves. As a senior, this is a really big deal for me because I feel like the seniors set the tone for how everyone acts. I want to everyone to have fun and enjoy competitions but I also want to be serious about it. Every practice I want to go in with a good attitude and be there for anyone that has questions about choreography and ask my own. I want to be the senior everyone depends on and who always knows what’s happening. Ace/competition classes were always my favorite. I want to make an environment where other girls can fall in love with it too. Dance has always been a priority in my life and since it’s my last year dancing (possibly ever) I want it to be the best one yet and I’m willing to do whatever it takes. I also only have 3 classes in person at East so I have more free time to do solo/duet/trio practices during the day or in the morning. I love all the girls and I would never want to let them down. I am not saying I won’t miss any classes but if I do I will know everything I missed before the next rehearsal. I can’t wait to dance with everyone again!
I would like to be in competition again this year. I really enjoy going to competitions and performing. I also like the judging aspect, so I can work on improving my dancing. I have enjoyed these summer classes because I enjoy learning new moves, and I like the challenging things in dance. I am very dedicated to dance. I have nothing else that I am involved in outside of dance, so I will be able to attend whenever you need me. I will always be aware of my teammates and I will try to help them whenever I can. I will show up to every practice because that is important to me and everyone at SDA. Thank you so much for everything you have done for me and SDA, and I am excited to see what is coming my way in my dance life!
I joined ACE during my first year of level 5 when I was 10 years old, so this will be my 8th year being a part of this special team. I’m so excited for my senior year at SDA and can’t wait for all the challenging and fun dances I’ll learn this year. ACE has always been my favorite part about dance because at competitions, I feel so accomplished and proud of how hard I’ve worked throughout the season. I’m also surrounded by some of my closest friends, who I’ve observed growing stronger as dancers as well. Our comp-company is like my second family. As a team, we all celebrate, cry, laugh, and sweat with one another throughout each practice and I will always have a place in my heart for each of the girls. I am fully committed to them and SDA because I want to support them on their journey and also make my girls proud. For this next year, I really just want to live in the moment and make lifelong memories. I will of course put my all into every group dance so that our team, as a whole, feels more confident when we perform on stage. However, I also want this year to be fun and positive, so I’m also going to focus on connecting with the girls and fostering a joyful environment for all of us. Dance has always been my number one priority because of how much energy and time energy I’ve put into it, so I will make sure no obstacles get in the way of our practice times. Even though this is my last year at SDA, I still want to get better and stronger, so I will put the same amount of effort into the team as I have in years past. I’m eager to start learning all the new dances and to end my time at SDA on a high note. I can’t wait to have the best year of dancing with all of my best friends!
I’m definitely interested in being part of the competition company again this year. When I first started competition, I was extremely nervous; I didn’t know if I was going to be good enough to be part of the team. Now a few years later, I realize being part of the team was the thing that made me a better dancer. Dancing with all my friends pushed me to work harder at everything and allowed me to learn a lot. Without competition I would miss all the fun that I have with other dancers and most importantly dancing on a giant stage, showcasing the dances that ace has worked on for a long time, and competing with other dancers. When I’m on stage at competitions, I feel a whole other level of excitement. This year I hope to learn a lot more technique and improve mine. I also want to challenge myself and learn new steps. Every year I strive to become a better dancer, and this year will be no different. Dance has been and will be a priority in my life, and I will try my best to achieve excellent attendance. I will commit to my team by knowing the choreography and remembering it between classes. Even if I have to miss a class, I will learn the choreography before next class. I will always bring my enthusiasm and be excited to learn choreography. I will also bring my hard work as I will continuously practice choreography until I get it right. I’m excited for competition this year, and I always look forward to competition classes.
I wish to be in competition because I want to contribute to the studio in more ways that I have in the past. I also want to be in competition because I'll be able to bond with my peers more. I also want to be able to develop my dance abilities more when I join. On and and off stage I hope to learn new skills and work on the ones I have. I will come to practice as often as possible and the only reason I would miss is for a mandatory event such as a doctor appointment. If I miss I will learn the choreography quickly so I'm not letting down my team. I will also show my commitment by correcting my mistakes and applying corrections. I think I have a very positive attitude towards things and I try to look after my peers feelings rather than their mistakes. And I hope we all have fun while still becoming stronger, better and caring dancers.
I would love to be on the competition team again this year. Dance is my life and I am willing to make sacrifices to be the best dancer that I can be. I will always come to class ready to learn and I will be committed to my teammates. I will make sure I know all the choreography. I will try to build the team up by always having a positive attitude when I come to class. I want to be in comp company so I can compete and improve my dancing skills with the judges' feedback and advice for becoming a better dancer, as well as the advice from the SDA teachers. I hope to learn how to be a better dancer and performer. I want to work on technical things as well as facial expressions when I am performing. I hope to learn to work together as a team with the other girls in my group. I plan to continue to dance five nights a week. I also will not join any extracurricular activities that interfere with dance. Dance is a high priority in my life and I wouldn't want to jeopardize that by missing classes. There is nothing I would rather be doing than dancing. Which is why I am dedicated and committed to dance and am willing to give other things up to continue to make dance my life. SDA has become like a second home to me. I love dancing there with my dance family. I love going to class and when I am not there I miss it so much. Also thank you for the wonderful opportunity to compete at YAGP. It is a wonderful honor. So thank you so much for selecting me. I love dance and my SDA family so much, which is why I am 100% committed to dance and comp company.
I want to be on the competition team because dance is my whole life and I really enjoyed it last year. I want to try again and see if I can do even better than last year. I want to work on pointing my toes, facial expressions, jumping high, and keeping my arms up. I want to perfect my skills and become a better dancer. I will sacrifice other activities so that I do not have to miss dance practice. I love dance so much and I don’t want to let my teammates down that is why I will try my best to be at every practice. I always want to help encourage my teammates to keep trying their best and to help us work together as a team. I will always try to have a positive attitude and to help my teammates if they need help. I love dance and I loved competition last year. It was super fun and I can’t want for more dance this year.
I want to continue being in competition company. It brings me so much joy to be on a team with all of my friends and it's another opportunity to put hard work into a good product. Since joining comp. company 2 years ago, my self-image and confidence have improved a lot. Competitions in general have helped me a lot too because they have reduced my performance anxiety and made me surer of what I am doing. As I continue, I want to gain and learn better memorization skills. I tend to have a bad memory when it comes to simple combos in center, so I feel that learning more choreography could help strengthen my memory. I will always prioritize comp. company because it brings me the best feeling ever. I have had good attendance since joining, and when I would miss, an email would have been sent several days prior in preparation. I even quit Tae Kwon Do so that I could continue with the team because it made me so much happier. I love everyone at dance, and I am so committed to the team. I always try to help my friends review choreography so that we are all on the same page. I know I would continue doing this because it helps me too. I also try my hardest to bring a positive energy to practices and make sure that my teammates are okay because they all matter so much to me. Practices are so much more fun when everyone is in a good mood too. I couldn’t live without competitions and comp-company.
This will be my third year in competitive dance at sda, and I have seen the progress of my dance technique the first two years. I can’t wait to see how I grow as a dancer in my third year! I also love to compete with sda because it is SO FUN!!! I am fully committed to the studio, and especially my comp team since the group relies on everyone’s attendance in order to practice. If one person is missing, it is hard on the entire group to practice choreography and determine placement and spacing. Dance has been a high priority in my life, and will continue to be as I commit to another year of comp. I hope to set an example to my team by attending all of the classes, and working hard while I am there. Even though we are all good friends, I understand that it is important to be serious and not play around and talk during class. I will contribute ideas for choreography and practice what is learned in class, at home. I’m so excited to start another year of competition at sda!
I am very interested in being a part of the competition company again this year. I really loved it last year !! I would love to be able to continue to grow as a dancer. I am hoping to improve my dance skills and learn some new things too. I want to learn as much as a can about dance and hope to work toward dancing on pointe. I am dedicated to attending practices every week. Dance at SDA is my number one commitment and I am willing to work hard for it. I will also practice at home and work on stretching to improve my skills. I promise to respect and help my teammates any way I can. I am committed to all practices and performances. The positive qualities I can bring to every practice are a positive, kind, and friendly attitude and willing to be helpful to my teammates and teachers. Thank you for the opportunity to dance with SDA studios.
Dance has always been a passion of mine for most of my life. Last year when I first started competition, it opened up a whole other world of dance. I want to be in competition because I love to dance and perform. I will take any opportunity to be on stage doing what I love. Not only is being in SDA’s competition company fun but it also is full of challenges. When I’m doing extra classes for competition, I learn extra steps and dance moves I may have never learned before. Being in competition can also teach me time management. I will have to manage my time during a quick change or figure out how long it takes to do hair and makeup. Competition can teach me time management outside of dance as well. For example, I would have to manage time during school and after school for homework while still having time to go to dance practice and practice at home on the days I don’t have rehearsal. The biggest thing I want to improve is to be the best dancer I can be. I find being dedicated and being committed to dance to be very important. In the past, I have tried other sports or extracurricular activities along with dance and I have come to realize that dance is the one and only true sport for me. I have been invited to many parties and school dances that were scheduled during dance practice and every single time I say “Nope, I’m sorry I can not come, I have dance, and dance comes first”. I will continue to stay committed to dance for this upcoming dance season and for years to come. Not only does not showing up to dance practice put you behind in class, but it also affects your teammates and teachers. When you miss dance it affects everyone and it's very hard to practice choreography or come up with new choreography when not everybody is there. I always think that if you can’t show up to practice, then why are you paying for something you aren’t even fully dedicated to doing. Like I said before, I absolutely love dance so I’m never going to complain that I have to go to practice because I want to relax and dancing relaxes me. I will come to class with a positive attitude and a bit of humor but also ready to work hard. For me, dance is a way to get more stressful stuff off my mind and just think about one thing, dance. So when I show up to practice I want all my attention to be on dancing. Dance is also a way to just have fun because if you aren’t having fun and loving dance with all your heart then why are you even taking dance classes and adding competition to that.
I would like to be part of the competition company because dance is not only a part of my life but it is a part of who I am and I could never turn down an opportunity to do what makes me feel like myself. I’m very certain that dance is what I would like to pursue for the rest of my life and I will do everything it takes and jump on every growing experience along the way. I have learned so much and grown immensely over the past few years of competition. Competition has given me lots of experience performing on stage and allowed me to be inspired by other dancers that I see on stage. I hope to continue to learn about what it means to dance as a part of a group where everyone contributes and works to the best of their ability in order to come together as a cohesive and strong team. I hope to expand my abilities and perform new and challenging choreography. I couldn’t be more dedicated to the studio or my team and being able to give so much of my time to dancing at the studio is more of a blessing than any sort of sacrifice for me. I always have and always will make my rehearsal attendance a very top priority. My life revolves around dance and there is no place I’d ever rather be. My friends, teammates, and teachers at dance are like a second family. Walking into the studio everyday I am surrounded by people I love in a place where I receive endless support and create unforgettable memories. I’m very committed to my teammates and I always want to be there for them. I will honor my commitment to my teammates by attending every practice possible, supporting everyone in their goals and accomplishments, and bringing everything I have to the stage. I will come to every rehearsal ready to learn and take instruction. There is not a thing in the world that makes me as happy as when I’m dancing and I promise to bring all of my joy and passion for dance to every class. The opportunities I’ve been given through dancing at the studio have truly shaped me into the person I am today. There is nothing like having teachers that care about me and my future, friends that support and love each other, the ability to work with younger dancers, and plenty of opportunities to perform on stage all in one place. I believe that home is less of a place but more of a feeling; the feeling that I have when I do what I love with the people that I love. Competition is part of my home and I want more than anything to be a part of it. I can’t thank you enough for everything you have given me!
I want to be on the competition team because of the joy that it brings me. Nothing compares to that feeling of being onstage after months of hard work, and I want to live out that feeling as much as possible since it is my senior year and my time left onstage is limited. It’s not just that moment onstage, but also the time that leads up to it. Countless rehearsals spent together as a team create memories that I never want to forget. Competing is important to me not only because of the dancing, but because of the people. I feel that competition creates bonds between teammates that is unmatched, so this year I will be committed to the team not just for myself, but more importantly for my teammates. As a senior, it is important to me that I work hard to make this year amazing. I will do my absolute best to be devoted to you, the studio, and the team to make that happen. While dance has always been a huge part of my life, I plan to focus and work harder than ever this year. I love everyone so much, and I cant wait to be back in the studio :)
I want to be in competition company because dance has always been a big part of my life. I’ve made amazing and wonderful friends from being on the competition team. To me, they are people that I am able to call my family and they are something that I will always treasure dearly. I have learned a lot by being in competition and I hope I’m able to continue to keep learning. I hope to learn more techniques to help improve my skills. I also want to learn how improve my stage presence. Every practice I will always be a hard worker and want to have a good positive attitude. I am dedicated and willing to sacrifice my time to attend practices, commit to excellent attendance, and continue to make dance a major part of my life. I will commit to my teammates by showing them kindness and helping them if they need it. I want dancers to feel comfortable around me and also to create a better environment. I want to be there for other dancers if they have any questions about choreography. I hope dancers, including me, will always be confident and proud with themselves and their dancing. Without dance I wouldn’t be the same. I am excited and looking forward to start dancing again in August this year!!
I want to be in comp-company because I enjoy dance. I like traveling and making people happy when I dance. I also enjoy spending time with my dance classmates, and also the older girls and learning from them...wearing the costumes and make-up is really fun too. This year in comp-company I hope to learn to improve my jumps and turns, and also improve so that I can one day perform a solo at competition. I also hope to be stronger with my upper body and to gain more confidence overall. I am fully dedicated to comp-company dance. I understand that if I skip practice, I will miss a lot and not do the best I can at the competition, and that will let down my team and studio. Dance is my main activity outside of school. I will be there to support my teammates by showing up to rehearsals on time and ready to learn, will take class very seriously, and work to help my teammates when I see them struggling. I will always be ready with a compliment for my team and will focus on not letting them down.
I would like to be a part of this year's competition team. Not only have the past two years of me being in competition been very fun, but I think that they have helped improve me as a dancer, not only technically but, I have also gained more confidence in my dancing. Even just this past month doing summer dance with some of the silver level girls, I think I have improved a bit because I get to push myself harder in dance. Continuing to do competition will help me improve technically and I will be able to spend more time with the family I have created at dance. I am willing to sacrifice a few weekends out of the year to attend the competitions and I am willing to do my best to make it to all classes that I am enrolled in. I am not doing any other sports this year so, nothing should conflict like volleyball did last year. I understand how important it is to make it to practice and if I have to miss one I need to make sure I catch up on any missed choreography or corrections that have been added to the dances. I know that it is extremely unfair to other dancers in the dances to miss a lot of practice and take up time trying to catch up on choreography so I will not be afraid to ask my friends to help me learn before the next practice. Not only am I willing to ask for help on things I miss, I will also be there for my friends that miss, and help them catch up as well. I am excited to continue participating in all of the stage opportunities that SDA provides and I look forward to growing as a dancer!
I want to be in competition this year because I believe that I can do even better than I did last year. I love to do competition because I enjoy and love dance every time I walk into the studio. I would like to continue dancing at the studio for as long as I can to become and better and stronger dancer. I hope to learn how to become better at my dancing by learning my choreography better. By learning how to memorize my dances better I can make sure that I can do my dances and become stronger at my dancing. Yes, I am committed to putting all my efforts and life into dance. I love coming dance every week. I will be committed to my team by making sure I I put all my efforts into competition. I will do this by practicing everyday, making sure I know what to do, and not bring my team down. Some of the positive things that I will bring to the team is dedication, kindness, and positivity . These are the reasons why I would like to be back on the competition team.
I’m reaching out to reapply for competition this 2022-2023 season. This will be my 7th year in competition which is crazy to think about. Every year as been better than the last and the memories made with every dance i’ve done have been unforgettable. I would like to continue competition this season because I really love getting the extra chance to perform, to be onstage with my favorite people, to watch myself grow, and to experience what every dance means to me. Dance has been a part of my life for 13 years now and I don’t remember a time where I wasn’t able to say proudly that I am a dancer. I know how much each dancer is a special part of sda and makes the studio has great as it is. I know without you or Miss Claire or any of the dancers it wouldn’t be the same and I like to think that in my own way I have made my mark on sda and on each of my fellow dancers. That is why I would like to continue competition this season.
I like being in the comp company because I love to preform and I love seeing all the different dances from our company and others. I hope to learn more dance and/or routines to improve my dancing. I love the feeling when I struggle with a step or sequence and I master it. Some ways I could help the team is trying to help them calm down if they start to stress back stage, and I can also help people learn the choreography. Sometimes there was a long break between classes or they where absent we can work together to help teach or remember the choreography. Some of my positive qualities are that I listen very well and attendance is very important to me. I will keep trying and practicing if I struggle at a certain step or routine. Also, I try to be supportive of other dancers and a team player.
I want to be in the comp-company this year because i have always really enjoyed dancing competitively and it gives me a chance to go on stage and let my emotions go in these very special dances. I hope to learn new dances that challenge me and push me to try harder things, I also hope to learn new techniques that will be useful for our dances in and out of comp. I am dedicated and promise to attend all my comp classes unless if an emergency occurs. This year I am going to have a great attendance and do the best I can to help the other dancers out the best I can. This season I want to help other dancers with anything they might’ve missed or are struggling on. I want to be the senior others can come to if they need help learning our dances. This year I hope to do a solo for competition and I want to put all my hard work and effort into making it the best senior year I can for myself and everyone else.
I love dance and want to improve my skills. I like challenges and feel great when I complete them. I love learning new dances. I think competition has all those traits. I don’t have any other activities that would interfere, and I won’t miss competition class unless I am sick. I will try to help my teammates to learn our dances as best as I can. I hope to bring my excited energy to my team. I am very eager to do Competition and I hope to be able to start soon!
